Chanel Rouge Coco on Tour in Hong Kong

The largest Chanel event in Hong Kong in these recent years, the Rouge Coco on Tour is running a pop up store at Fashion Walk, Causeway Bay for 3 weeks from May 21 to Jun 5.  Before it is open to public, Chanel has arranged the opening parties on both May 19 and 20.

Infusing music with fashion and makeup, it’s fun to join the opening party.  You can try on the new rouge coco lipsticks and the new Chanel nail colours.  Or you can take a video of you performing as a band or taking selfie with all the DIY Chanel icons.  Lots of opportunities to create the magic moment.  A moment with Chanel Rouge Coco.

I am a fan of Chanel.  Instead of talking about the fun-filled evening event, I would like to see it from a marketing point of view.  The event is fully digitised.  From the beginning of guest RSVP, to the way of how to distribute all the videos and pictures back to visitors.  It is really smooth and engaging.  Upon your registration, you will receive a QR code.  This QR code will facilitate you all the way in the event.  At the entrance, unlike other events you need to queue up and check in with your name and phone number, you can provide your QR code for scanning to enter.  It saves a lot of time and embarrassing occasion, cause the names of reservation are not always correct word by word.  By digitising the check-in procedure, I didn’t hear the usual grievances at the entrance like “gosh, my name cannot be found on the list, I need to call the PR……”

During the event, there are games and different experiences.  You can shoot a short video like a rock band super star.  Again, by scanning your QR code, the short video is delivered to your registered email right away.  This facilitate your sharing on the social media on point and in time.  You can take a selfie in the event too.  There is a large selfie booth and the best thing about this booth is the angle of the camera.  It is a tilted down camera located a little bit higher than normal selfie camera.  Girls, we all know how good is this camera angle.  We all have V-shaped face!!  How can we resist to share these selfies on our Facebook?  Yes, again by scanning your code, your selfie is delivered to your mailbox directly and you can share it immediately.

More, the marketing hashtags are so clear for everyone.  #rougecocoontour and #ilovecoco are clearly shown on the invitation card and everywhere in the venue.  It facilities the marketer to consolidate the viral result easily.  It also facilities all the guests for idea on how to develop the caption on their posts.

Lastly, the souvenir.  There are so many lovely souvenir from the event.  A lovely tote bag, badges, rouge coco notebook, bracelet, letter stand, product samples.  And of course they send your videos and selfies directly to your email address.  The Rouge Coco on Tour is absolutely amazing.  Well done Chanel Marketing and PR team.
