Last month, there was a promotion in Lane Crawford to redeem a set of Ciaté mini nail polish. Frankly, I didn’t try the Ciaté nail polish before and this promotion naturally picked up my curiosity of this popular nail colour brand. There were 2 different sets to choose and I’ve picked the one with the Sugar Plum (PP080), Play Date (PP105), Ferris Wheel (PP119), Snow Globe (PP146) & the Speed Coat (NT000).
This limited edition set also came with an artist print pouch by yushanli, who is one of China’s up and coming young artist with a solid education background at the esteemed Central St Martins College of Art and Design in London. Wow!
Ciate mini PP080 sugar plum |
OK, let’s try on the colour. First the PP080 Sugar Plum. I just love it. It is a soft lilac colour that initially I’m afraid it would be difficult to wear. You know sometimes pastel colour would easily get “dirty” and darken your skin colour. But this one I don’t find this happened. Moreover, it is very pleasant and easily goes with my outfit and makeup.

Next, the pretty orange pink is the PP105 Play Date. This summer pop colour can catch your eyes and make you love her. A sweet colour.
Ciate mini PP119 ferris wheel and PP146 snow globe |
For the PP119 ferris wheel, again a yummy pastel blue. And I have also tried the PP146 snow globe by adding an extra layer on top of the ferris wheel to add a sparkle essence to one of my nail.
I have to say that the brush of Ciate is really good and easily handled. For me such a bad self nail painter can still manage not to be too messy. A credit must also goes to their Speed Coat. It can hold the color fresh even for those fragile pastel for a few days. Hence, it’s glossy, and it keeps glossy long enough for several days. I believe I will go back to Ciate Nail Polish again.
