Air Cushion Foundation: IOPE and The History of Whoo
Nowadays, Air Cushion Foundation is so popular. Nearly every beauty brands in Korea have released their air cushion foundation. For all air cushion foundation, there is a sponge soaking with all the foundation in the case. And you need to use the specific sponge in the case to press and apply to your face. Usually a refill comes together when you buy it, cause actually it can be consumed very fast. The main function for these air cushion foundation is to bring up the moisture level of the foundation in order to create the perfect supple nude skin look. Among the many air cushion foundation, I would like to talk about the two I mostly used these days. They are the IOPE Air Cushion XP Natural and The History of Whoo Whitening & Moisture Glow Cushion Foundation。
IOPE Air Cushion XP Natural
First come first, let’s talk about IOPE. Leveraging the super popular Korean tv drama My Lover from the Star, IOPE Air Cushion were all sold out. It has 5 colours and 3 textures. They are natural shades in N21 & N23, shimmering S22 and high coverage C21 & C23. No.21 is lighter than no.23. Which one to choose, depends on the outcome you desire. (Don’t forget to match the IOPE Water Fit Lipstick!)
The History of Whoo Whitening & Moisture Glow Cushion Foundation
The History of Whoo is a brand I’m fallen in recently. Only the skin care line is available in Lane Crawford Hong Kong. But actually their cosmetic line is quite good too. I love their loose powder, we can talk about it next time. Continuing the usual glamorous packaging of The History of Who, it has a pretty cute case. I love to put it on my desk, cause it really looks good.
I chose the lightest shade for both brands, I’ve picked N21 for IOPE and no.21 for Whoo. For me, IOPE is relatively matching my skin, while Whoo looks darker and a bit more red. Blush is a must if you are using IOPE, otherwise it will be too pale. I think IOPE is relatively more moisturised while Whoo has a better coverage. Though it was said that no loose powder is needed for these foundations in Korea, Hong Kong is just too humid and I definitely need loose powder to fix my make up.
To apply air cushion, you can gently pat on your skin. Use the attached sponge to pick a little by little and pat gently on your face. Wherever need more coverage, pat more there. The pretty nude look is ready. Allow me to add one point, air cushion is not lasting, so you really need to reapply frequently to refresh it.
